Roaming around...

Just observing around here.Nothing much have happened.Actually its not that I was expecting much.Pretty much hot around here now.And my school's on Summer vacation!! So Im just roaming around here.Observing all I can. Writing a bit.Met a girl who sang the blues..I asked her for some happy news..She just Smiled and turned away...Hey!! I really met a girl, im not just singing a song. She was rapping though..'bout Jesus..She didnt seem happy..This is one country that has a lot of faith ( Tania, Dont laugh!! Faith matters )..They b'liv their messiah has come on earth. They b'live the revolution is not far away. They sing about,it dance about, tell stories...and they live it.Im just an observer, trying to learn their magic. I have kinda started to belive it ...(Yes! Miss Sceptic, You'll belive too if you come here)..
Open your eyes my friends. The world will be watching soon!!

The Coffee

Marijuana has lost its charm..
LSD will fail..
The world goes to the morderates..
Coffee the drink of the plebian...
the only vice left...

Bad attempt at haiku.Even worse attempt at philosophy

But the coffee is good here. They grind it by hand, morter and pestle.Unprocessed coffee beans. Extreamly acidic. Put into individual burnt pottery cups and hot water poured over it.
Sound romantic? duh!! Not bad actually if you get used to the smoke and and the acidic taste.
Explained " Mohabishye mohakashe " to a new Rastaferian friend. ( Thats a philosophical song - for nonbengalies) . Learned about some of his Gospel music. He's trying to start a choir. Mocked me a lot for my trademark bong hair ( he has the usual admirable dreadlocks you see everywhere here ).
Ahh me happy as of today.

Why am I in Ethiopia

Im ethnically a Calcutta pure-bred Bengali. Now a citizen of Ethiopia. Not without a hell lot of trouble. But I needed to be here.Got a job to teach English and Science at a primary school somehow.Nice kids here.

Oh yes why am I here? Well I have a very strong feeling that Ethiopia is the next world super power. It will emerge as one in some time. Im here to observe the process and write a book and accelarate the process by teaching science at primary level.
